PSONI runs Occupational Therapy Workshops where adults learn the skills necessary to improve their independence levels and work adaptability.
The workshops also facilitate socializing with peers, instructors and other people. They offer eaningful activity in a variety of vocational settings and teach self-determination as well as responsibility, particularly in the context of money management and personal budgets. The Workshops enable the persons to grasp everyday skills, manage relationships and learn the principles as well as institutions of social life. Moreover, they organize and teach how to plan recreational activities.
PSONI employs occupational therapy as a method of work with persons with intellectual disability also beyond workshops, for instance in the Association’s local centres.
